Trouble with the Law
When I got home from work on Tuesday, I turned on my computer to check my email. I was surprised that I had not got any blog-related email, but quickly dismissed it and went on to check out my blog stats. Imagine trying to access you blog and being greeted with an “account suspended” message. I was in shock and spent several seconds just starring at my computer screen.
After my little episode, I went to wordpress.com and found a link to contact support. The next morning, I got a nice response from Mark with wordpress. Mark told me that my blog was suspended because:

“Here are some examples of blogs that are banned from WordPress.com (all of these fall under the general heading of “spam blogs”, or splogs, and we will be deleted as soon as we find them or they get reported):
* SEO blogs: Blogs that are written for search engines instead of humans. These blogs are dedicated to trying to fool Google and other search engines into ranking them highly. WordPress.com is not meant for this type of activity.
* Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (”Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”,etc). ”
Mark went on to further tell me that if I removed all my ads and affiliate links my blog would be reinstated or I could choose to export my content to another host. I must thank Mark and the staff at wordpress. They could have easily just blindly quoted their terms of service and not give me the chance to change my blog.
So what am I going to do?? Drum roll please . . . . .
I have decided to export my blog to bluehost. This is something that I had been considering before being suspended. I now turn to my readers to help me decide what domain name to use. Thus far, my choices are:
