A New Holiday

As Valentine’s Day came and went this week, I heard several people complain about how this holiday is a fictitious marketing scheme developed by the greeting card industry.  Consequently, I decided that if the if they can make up holidays, then I should be able to follow suit.

As a result, I now declare June 1st, 2009 to be the first annual Red Stapler Day.

Red Stapler Day will honor all those people out there that hate their jobs (or even have recently been laid off).  To celebrate Red Stapler Day, all you have to do is prominently display your red stapler.  Don’t have one?  Just paint (nail polish works) your existing stapler or just buy one.  Obviously, the more red staplers that a workplace has, the more Red Stapler Day spirit they are demonstrating.

To make this day successful, I am going to need all of my fellow bloggers support.  Wouldn’t it be great to unleash the first blogger driven holiday to the world instead of letting a card company create the next holiday.  You can place a Red Stapler button on your blog or website by copying the following code:

Let’s have fun with this!!!
