Because I believe in being a realist and admitting when something is going wrong, I must say that I am having serious doubts about my blogging abilities. It seems that no manner what I do, I can not drive more traffic to my blog. Making matters worse, I seemed to have angered the Google Gods, as I have gone from the first two search result pages to nowhere near the top 25 in many vital keywords.
My blogging adventure has certainly been fun. I get a genuine high when one of my posts gets a comment or generates loads of traffic. I really like the idea that others are reading my ideas and thoughts. Still, I have a confession to make. The reason I started this blog is not to enrich and entertain the lives of others. Quite frankly, the purpose of this blog is to make me money. The time that I spend blogging has replaced the time that I would be spending make money taking surveys and completing offers at the GPT sites I use (see my Current Earnings page for more details). I knew that I would not see any revenues from my blogs instantaneously, but at this point I expected some moderate success.
Okay, you are probably wondering if this guy going to stop whining, and what is his problem? The simple answer is that I have hit the blogging wall. The blogging wall hits most bloggers after they have been posting a couple of months. Have you ever hit a blogging wall? The way I see it, there 3 main symptoms that you may have hit the blogging wall.
1. You are running of out post ideas. The ideas that used to flow like water out of your head have evaporated and constructing a post starts to become a chore. Blogging is no longer a fun activity for you, but instead feels more like work.
2. You become frustrated that your dreams of making serious money with your blog are replaced with the reality of being happy with a 23 cent day.
3. Your traffic plateaus or even decreases and you ponder whether you will ever be able to gain new traffic.
As a result, this will be my last post and The Red Stapler Chronicles will officially be closed tomorrow. Just kidding, this blogger is like Chumbawamba–I get knocked down, but I get back up again ( if you didn’t get this joke).
