How to Deal With Election Withdrawal

Don’t know what you are going to do without checking the latest Gallup polls? Think you are going to miss all those political commercials? Worried about how Saturday Night Live will be able to fill their entire show?

Not to worry, I have come up with a nice list that will help you all transition into a non-presidential election world.

1. Build up your foreign policy skills by talking to your neighbors (must live at least one block away to count).

2. Stage your own debates with sock puppets.

3. Use your campaign pins to scrape mildew off from between your shower tiles.

4. Sit back and enjoy all the beer and erectile disfunction ads that will likely replace all the political ads.

5. Read a freaking book.

6. Hold your own election with your pets by putting the same food in separate bowls and labeling them with the candidate’s names.

7. Collect all the campaign signs around your neighborhood and build a sculpture of your favorite candidate. Dartboards and fuel for fires are also acceptable uses for these signs.

8. Call a co-worker a maverick when they come in 5 minutes late.

9. Suggest a “surge” strategy to tackle your laundry problem.

10. Call your local plumber and ask him if he/she have a “Joe” on staff.

11. Watch Deadliest Catch on Discovery Channel in hopes of seeing a member of the Palin family.

12. Ask the WWE to set up a cage match pitting Bill O’Reilly vs. Keith Olbermann

Thats a cool list of things to do for the post election period. Really funny.

  3. Olaf Neuigkeit says:

Hahahaha. My favorite here is watching Deadliest Catch in hopes of seeing a member of the Palin family. Bahaha.

One could also ask friends and co-workers regularly “so who are you going to vote for?” clearly stating your withdrawel or utterly confusing them.

    Great Post!

Great list. Print that one and hang it up somewhere.

I particularly appreciated the first item on the list.

I can see my neighbors house from my own doesn’t that automatically give me foreign policy experience. When my neighbor rears his head what is the first thing he sees, its my house……

HA!, This shit had me rolling, you forgot one. The door to door Campaign, its when you go knock on you doors and run before they catch you, hahah!

I’m an election junkie so now that it’s over I don’t know what I’m gonna do. At least my wife will be happy I’m sure shes sick of the constant news radio in the house. Really I can’t get enough. Guess I’ll just have to listen to Rush to get me all hot and bothered.

  11. Julie says:

Your list is great! People around here are scoffing up Obama signs like crazy, thinking they are going to be worth “real money” some day. Maybe they’re right!

I am still waiting for a member of the Palin family on the deadliest catch… Have to say that i am not too disappointed.

I think the best advice in this list is to don’t care and read a book.
