Rejected Garbage Pail Kids

Do you remember the Garbage Pail Kids trading cards? First released in 1985, these trading cards were designed to make fun of the nation’s Cabbage Patch Kid mania. Each card featured a Garbage Pail Kid character, with some comical abnormality and/or suffering some terrible fate, and a humorous, word play-rich character name.

Recently, executives at Topps trading cards released some of the Garbage Pail Kids that just were not good enough to be published.   Here is a sampling of some of them:

The kids look so gross… but LOL. XD
Got to love Sopranoed Steve. Although he looks similar to Spongebob with all those holes. :)

  2. John @ Digital Media College says:

    Rogaine Regina…’nuff said. LOL

  3. Those are quite catchy and funny. I think I remember these, it’s been so long! I’m sure you can buy these on eBay or something. Regards!

  4. st_hart says:

yeah, those are quite weird :> and maybe not suitable for kids.

  5. David Promotional products says:

Topps has continued publishing “All-New Series” GPKs since then. They have added bonus cards, sketch cards or other novelty inserts, and cards with codes for using interactive features on the Garbage Pail Kids World website

  6. Jacky says:

I found it not child- friendly.
    Aside from its being weird
i don’t see any good things from there.
That’s not ideal for the kids.

  7. Bertholemeuw says:

LoL this is so funny …

  8. Pozycjonowanie says:

God damn they’re ugly. But I guess that was the point, eh ?
I wouldn’t let my kid near one of those, he might like it … Unless he started collecting Cabbage Patch Kids, in which case there would be only 2 options for me: give him these, or hang mysel :P

  9. Adam Railing says:

They have added bonus cards, sketch cards or other novelty inserts, and cards.

  10. Jeremy Craven says:

Those are quite catchy and funny.

  11. Efusjon says:

I never understood the alure with GPK’s. I know it has it’s niche following but what’s the point? I guess if people will buy a rock with grass on it they will buy anything.

  12. Sweets says:

    They look a little creepy.

  13. Bdog says:

THIS ARTICLE IS FALSE INFORMATION…although it’s pretty damn funny. The above cards were all published by Topps back in the 80′s, BUT with different names than the above.

I get a laugh out of the people claiming these cards are not ideal for kids, LOL. I guess surfing the internet is a safer way for our kids to spend their free time..;). Anyways, it’s great to see a hobby that doesn’t involve staring at a monitor…
