7 easy ways to save money

Since I continually discuss ways to make extra money, I should share some ways in which  I save money.

1.  I avoid vending machines–why pay $1.25 for a soda or 85 cents for a candy bar.

2.  I wash my own car

3.  I vowed not to pay another ATM fee–with just a little planning, this can be done

4.  I bought a thermos, and bring in my own coffee–Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are not your financial friends

5.  I pay my credit cards in full–why give you hard earned money to the credit card companies.

6.  I got rid of my long distance service–now use  my cell  phone instead

7.  I stopped buying as many DVD’s–even though I am a movie buff, I found that I would rarely watch most of the DVD’s in my collection.

In other news I finally completed the $100 treasure hunt at treasure trooper and have updated my current earnings page.

Great Article . I want to add on more thing that what ever you buy just read the reviews and blogs related to that product and also compare the prices online of that product. That way you will also save the money. :)

  5. Nice article! We don’t stop and think that earning money is only one part of financial health,The other part is learning how to manage money.A big source of money problems,s that people just don’t know enough about their own financial reality. They don’t know what they earn, they don’t know what it takes to live, and they don’t know their discretionary income.

  6. Educate yourself. Sit down with your monthly bills and statements and figure out your income and outgo. Then, decide if you like the picture you see. If not, you’ll need to create a plan for changing it.Treat managing your money like you would any other household task and allot enough time for it every month.

  7. I paid off all my car payments within few months instead of 3 years. That way I got to keep all the interest money to myself.

  8. Something simple like making my own sandwiches for work rather than going to Subway saves me a lot of money every week. Probably better for me too.

  9. On number 6, I believe using long distance card is much cheaper than using cell phone.

  10. Sometimes you don’t even have to wash your own car. If you bring your car for service to your dealer, they always wash the car for you for free, both inside and out! You save some water bills, too!
