Does Oprah Believe the World Will End in 2012?
With the release of the movie 2012, awareness about the Mayan calender “predicting” the end of the world on December 21, 2012 is at all time high. Some people believe that this day will be as eventful as December 31, 1999 and the much hyped Y2k virus. Others are out there maxing out their credit cards, acting on a belief that they have only 2+ years left to live.
Despite what you think about the credibility of the Mayans, most people are ignoring the fact that a prognosticator with a much better track record has also predicted that the world is going to end on 12/21/2012. Nostradamus is the name of this well documented successful prophet.
On his death bed in 1565, Nostradamus starting getting dark visions of the end of the world. Furthermore, 13 unlucky visions of the events preceding the destruction of Earth, which he viewed as warning signs, kept dancing in his head. Since he was too weak to write his predictions is his normal quatrain format, many scholars dismissed his writings and they were soon forgotten. However, since many recent events could be interpreted as being apart of Nostradamus’s warnings sings, numerous scholars have been feverishly revisiting his last predictions.
I will let you make your own judgments. The following are the last writings of the great Nostradamus and along with one possible interpretation of what they might mean. Beware, this list is not for the faint of heart. If you are easily disturbed, I urge you to stop reading this article at this point.
1. The great communicator will go silent and return to her home planet.
Hmmm. I think Oprah just announced that her talk show would be ending in September of 2011. The timing of her retirement would surely give her enough time to arrange a trip “home.” 
2. The most powerful nation will be taken over by evil blood sucking worshipers.
Just try to turn on your television or computer and avoid a Twilight or Trueblood reference.
3. Before the end of the civilization, plays and festivals will be available to the masses whenever they desire.
Some call this Tivo while others call it On-Demand.
4. The masses will resort to writing on each others walls in order to communicate.
Can you say Facebook?
5. The games in the grand city will be strengthened by the men from the river and the gold coast.
This one is for New York Knick Fans–Will the speculation that the Knicks get Cleveland forward Lebron James and Miami guard Dwayne Wade come true? Nostradamus appears to think so.
6. A cult devoted to the study of science will cruise to the day in which they all simultaneously perish.
Perhaps a Scientology mass suicide? I wonder if Tom Cruise will take part.
7. A large crowd will be slowly poisoned by a group of court jesters.
I think McDonald’s mascot is a clown. . .
8. A terrible military defeat will be suffered by France.
Okay, this one is just common sense and does not count
8. Tainted juice will ruin the daily summer games for the common people.
Baseball does have a little steroid problem.
9. A popular king will fall after changing his color and advisers.
Insert Michael Jackson joke here.
10. Citizens of the cities will turn to foreign blankets during the warm seasons.
During this so called global warming, sales of the Snuggle Blanket are at all time high.
11. The powerful leader will develop a means to take the best paths to surprise and attack his enemies.
I am not sure if Nostradamus is talking about the Garmin or Tom Tom here.
12. A madman will rob the fortunes of countless tradesmen.
Can you say Madoff ponzi scheme?
13. A new leader will emerge and win over the masses–except the sly fox.
One could debate the sly aspect, but Fox News certainly has been a strong critic of Obama.
Wow! Some of this evidence has certainly made me a little concerned.

Really? Oprah is going to retire? I’m wondering what’s going to happen in the entertainment industry with her show ending.
According to my point of view I do not think the world will end, there will be a New earth ….life as we know it know will be very very different .

Well, I have been a big skeptic but with this Nostradamus list (and Oprah) you have to give it some more thought! There are a lot of fishy things like Tom Cruise, that will no doubt lead us to destruction (not being sarcastic.)
Gotta love these predictions– personally I’m hinging my bets on the Haldron collider creating a black hole and destroying us all
World ending! Lets see no morals murder water air bad, war disease hate of God no real love of family, kids being treated like trash. Governments are out for whatever they can get from tax payers. Parents being killed. If its not ending people may want to rethink being part of what is called the human race. It’s not working. Kids are growing up with more faith in nothing than in them selves. People ask a Hollywood air head if she thinks the world is ending and than buys tea cups they can’t afford. Let me ask why would God want it too not to end what has humans’ done to earn any more time? It they turn from Hollywood and started being human may be but humans’ are a dry piece of fruit that will blow away soon in the air. Children rape the man who get a year in jail. A mother let her 18-month little girl a lone in a cold room with the window open for 40 hour and when she found her dead she put her in a trash bag with dirtied diaper and box her up and left her by the froth door. Just for the kids I hope it is ending soon unless humans’ become human. Yes due to they didn’t understand why they were given time to start with. To beg God to for give them I love when they say God is not real. why would some one work so hard to do that unless they fear it.

The prediction that something big would happen in 2012 was invented maybe 20 years ago by a man called Jose Arguelles, he is a former LSD user, an astrologer and has claimed to be the re-incarnation of a Mayan priest among other peculiar things.
There is a third source attributing catastrophic event(s) of planetary proportions that will take place on or about December of 2012. Unfortunately, these predictions are not specific regarding an exact day. However, the month and year are the same.
The so-called Ubvric Rosetta Stone, discovered in 1936 near the Annapurna Sanctuary, bears writing in an ancient form of Devnagari.
There are many predictions on the Ubvric, interpreted as referring to the same events spoken of by Nostradamus, among them the Napoleonic Wars and the rise of Adolf Hitler (named partially on the stone as Schickl), and the two great wars of the 20th century. However, seven predictions or prophecies have been deciphered relating to the years immediately prior to the end of the world which is to occur in December of 2012.
The Ubvric has so far resisted carbon dating methods. Several universities have attempted such dating. The readings have varied from 1,000 to 25,000,000 years, the latter clearly inconsistent with the substance of the writings upon the stone itself.
The following is an approximate translation of the End of Times Ubvric prophecies by Dr. Samuel Bainbridge, Director Emeritus of the former Albanian Royal Library, Tirana, Albania:
1) The secrets of man will be shouted from the rooftops. No man shall be safe from the dragons in robes of black
2) All-observing lights appearing in the heavens will bear eyes and breathe death upon the earth below
3) Arrows of flame will be seen rising from the great waters
4) Centers of wisdom will abandon truths of the great spirit, as youth walk drunken in the streets.
5) Women will be temptresses and rule with supple hands
6) The great seal will be desecrated on the altar of man’s pleasure
7) The Great Spirit will withdraw protection as the skies melt in a fury of fire and ice

Thanks for sharing. Not to mention Simon Cowell just announced that this is his last year as American Idol judge. I also watched 2010 and though the effects are amazingly remarkable, we shouldn’t rely our fate based on that flick. I don’t wanna sound religious and all but of course, a prayer and faith will lead us to right track.
Used be 1999 then 2000. When it doesn’t in 2012, when is the next date set for?
I don’t think World would end in 2012. I didn’t get it why peoples are believing in Mayan’s Calender. Natural disasters are different things it happens time by time, we must be prepare for it. But World never ends.
No one knows when this world will end but every one of us should always be prepared for what might the future has to offer. Prepare in all aspects whether spiritually and mentally I should say.
I was wondering about the fossil record, that if every 26,000 years that the Earth, Sun and Galactic center all line up, if we can see evidence from that in the past for a polar shift. The Mayans must have been brilliant to know how everything would line up without technology with telescopes and computers and to even know there is a center of our Galaxy way back then. But what worries me is the information from so many different cultures and people, the Bible code, prophets, modern day visions like the Web Bot from the internet, government, Hopi Indians, Mayans, Merlin, I-Ching, astronomy, and Egyptians.
They all predict the same thing. Maybe nothing will happen but it does seem like a big coincidence.
I don’t think so it is just a prediction ! don’t worry my friend it is not & if it is it is out of ur reach so no matter to worry about end .but here is time save our environment !
2012 is just a fiction, for entertainment purposes alone. We should not deal with it as facts since it is baseless although there can be some similarities, let’s always bear in mind that God is always in control. Prayer and Preparedness goes hand in hand. This film is just testing our faith just like Da Vinci Code .
