It’s not easy being green

A green blogger that is–and I am not talking about an environmental-friendly blog. Now that this blog is now 25 posts old, I can tell you that persistence is the number one quality you need to survive the early stages of blogging. Getting subscribers and traffic is very difficult when you are new. I have tried countless ways to accomplish this task. Sometimes my efforts prove to be a big waste of time. Sometimes my hard work will produce a couple of extra visitors. Since no one wants to read a blog with only a handful of posts or a blog that contains no comments, you are almost stuck in a hopeless game of what “comes first the chicken or the egg.”

As a result, I will continue to share with you techniques that I have learned that have helped my blog. For instance, joining blog catalog is a must!! Blog Catalog allows you to networks with other bloggers–many of them just as new as me. Although experienced bloggers can give you great advice, sometimes it is better to receive tips from a fellow newbie who still speaks the “non-blogging” language. My Blog Log has also been a big help to me.

In a previous post, I talked about the importance of Stumble Upon, Share This, Digg, and Furl. I would now like to add Blog Engage, Spinn, Blogging Zoom, and Bumpzee as other sites that have been useful to me. Finally, I would like to add that this post has been very helpful 50 ways to get backlinks and traffic to your blog.

Anyone who is new to the blogging game (or can remember when they were new) want to offer any other advice or tips?

In other news, I have also updated my Current Earnings Page, located at the top of the blog.
