Performancing Ads–Great for New Blogs
In case you have missed it, a new advertising network has hit the blogging scene. It is called Performancing Ads and is intended to help great publishers get partnered up with great advertisers.
So how does it work? Basically, you register your blog, decide what regions of your blog you want the advertisements to be displayed, decide how many ads you want to display, and name your price per week. Within 4 minutes of visiting the site, I had the Performancing Ads set up on my blog. You can see how the ads are displayed by looking at the right column of my blog.
As of this afternoon, no one has bought any of my ads, but that hasn’t eroded my enthusiasm for this network. I understand that this is a brand spankin’ new network and will eventually attract more advertisers. Furthermore, checking my sitemeter, I have already got a couple of hits via the site. So at the very least, my investment of 4 minutes has yielded a couple of extra hits a day to my blog.
Now, you are probably wondering why I say that this network is perfect for new blogs, not all blogs. Well, I came up to this conclusion because of their revenue structure–it is a 60/40 split with 6o% going to the publisher (you) and 40% going to them. After you become more established as a blogger, you should be able to deal with advertisers directly and keep 100% of the revenue. In addition, there are sites similar to Performancing Ads that do the exact same thing and you keep 100% of the revenue–but they charge a one time fee (OIO Publisher Direct is the most famous and they charge $37).
As a result, I am going to play around with Performancing Ads for a while and see if I can sell a couple ads. If I am successful, I will probably move on and invest $37 on OIO Publisher Direct . Still, I can comfortable suggest that everyone sign up for Performancing Ads since being on their market place can only help you and there is ZERO downside.
No, I am not getting paid to write this post and I don’t have anything do with Performancing Ads. However, they do have a very attractive affiliate program. They pay you $10 for any referral that signs up, installs an ad region, and keeps it up for at least one month. As always, I will keep you informed about how Performancing Ads is working for me with future posts.
