If one were to type in obamabiden2008 or obamabiden2008.com in a Google search, guess what site comes up #1. No, its not The Red Stapler Chronicles (not yet). Instead, some smart ass secured this obamabiden2008 site. Of course, this position will probably not last long and this is certainly not the best search term, but I will enjoy this while it lasts. The last two days have yielded me 60 hits each, all from Google and I have experienced a nice conversion rate with the free Obama button ad that I have included below. It will be interesting to see if this traffic continues during the convention and afterwards.
Conducting these type of traffic building experiments should be viewed as an important weapon in any blogger’s arsenal, especially a novice blogger. After all, what do you have to lose. I secured about forty different president/vice-president wordpress domain name combos a couple of months ago in hopes that I would get some easy traffic. Yes, 38 of them will have been a waste of time, but I might get lucky with 2 of them. If I had really been smart, I would have invested in the dot com domain names and then tried to sell them to either of the campaigns. Oh well, maybe I will go register JindalCrist2012.com before someone else beats me to the punch.

Very entrepreneurial of you! Jindal/Crist is a good one, but I’d pick Buffett/Branson : )
