This Blog Finished Dead Last

I guess you can look at it this way–there is only one way to go–UP!! Out of 363 money making blogs, The Red Stapler Chronicles is currently rated 363 by the world famous 45n5 Top 100 List

No, I am not upset about this at all. Being a new blog that still has no Google ranking, I kind of expected this type of ranking. In addition, Google is still not picking up my Technorati ranking, so I also lost out on that category.  For those of you that don’t know, 45n5 is a blog that ranks money making blogs by using 3 main factors: Google Page Rank, Technorati Ranking, and Alexa Ranking. Problogger currently resides in the #1 location.  This blog really is a must bookmark.  I have used this site to look at blogs for a while now, and visit it ever day.  Just seeing my blog listed gives me a little thrill.

Actually, in a way, I am glad that I am dead last. When I first discovered the site, I checked out the first 50 blogs on the list and realized I had a lot to learn.  I then checked out the last 20 blogs on the list and found that I could learn more from those blogs since they were relatively knew and not as advanced.  Hopefully, there are people like me out there, and I will get some extra traffic by being on this list.

Getting on this list will also give be a tangible way of measuring my progress. I know that I can continue to “decrease” my Technorati and Alexa rankings. However, the Google page rank criteria is currently out of my control. Maybe one day Google will decide to restore my previous search results (Sadly, I have not got any Google traffic in the last two weeks). Nevertheless, it should be a fun journey to see how high The Red Stapler Chronicles can get. Watch out John Chow, ShoeMoney, and Problogger–here I come.

  1. I wouldn’t worry to much about these rankings at all. Even the Page rank system is kind of flawed. This blog has a good layout and already its getting decent traffic so really you have nothing to worry about.

  5. Looks like you are moving up :)
Last time I checked your blog was in mid 200ds.

I don’t really know how important is position on 45n5 but I can confirm - it does bring some visitors to my money making blog…

  6. IMHO, although Alexa rankings is not really accurate as it claims, you shouldn’t see it as a way to measure the performance of your site’s traffic. Being in the list could be a good motivation factor that can drive you further on developing your blog. Keep up the good work!
