Too many meetings!!!

Today at work, we were subjected to SIX different meetings. These meetings took up a grand total of 3 1/2 hours or 43.75% of our work day. What a waste of a day!! The worst part is that all of these meetings were pretty much pointless and could have been summarized in a one paragraph memo.

Perhaps if these any of these meetings had an actual agenda, they would have been more productive and beneficial. Although I don’t think that my managers (I report to 3 people, see this post) are stupid people, they clearly did not communicate with each other and had no concrete plans on how they would get their points across to their team. Consequently, the meetings consisted mainly of circular ramblings that went nowhere.

Once I got home and after I took some advil form my headache (and made myself a stiff drink), I started to think about this blog. One of my biggest challenges in constructing posts is to avoid being repetitive and “posting in circles.” Learning from what I experienced at work today, I think I need to give my blog more structure and maybe even a set agenda. You may have seen this on other blogs when they designate a specific day of the week for discussing a certain topic or linking their favorite posts of the week. I don’t think I want to designate a topic for each day of the week, but a little planning certainly would not hurt.
