How to Start an Internet Rumor
I’m sure if you have ever been on the internet, you have been exposed to countless chain letters that usually contain some type of rumor or farce. For example, did you hear that Bill Gates will give everyone who forwards this experimential email $100 for their time?
How did the creator of this an other internet rumors come up with their story? Simple–they just followed my simple template on how to create a internet rumor 
1. Did you hear about insert child star from the 80’s ? She is now a famous porn star and just checked into rehab for overdosing on insert a drug.
Example–Did you hear about Tina Yothers from Family Ties? She’s doing porn movies and just entered the Betty Ford Clinic for abusing chewable asprins. I’m serious, it was even on Entertainment Tonight. Okay, you see how easy this is, I will leave it all for you to come of with some other examples for the rest of them.
2. The son of the director of the Wizard of Oz is writing a book. Entitled I Was the Orginal Munchkin, he claims that insert a main charcter got caught having sex with one of the flying monkeys on set. The actor that played the flying monkey was fired from the set and committed suicide a week later. In the credits, the distraught director gives special thanks to this flying monkey.
3. Did you hear about the insane trick you can do by folding a 5 dollar bill and a 100 dollar bill in half? You then combine the front half of the $5 dollar bill and the back half of the $100 dollar bill and it reads “insert foreign dictator, past or present rules”. I didn’t believe this at first, but my cousin showed me.
4. Can you believe how they discovered insert your favorite soda, beer, or liquor? They were trying to come up with a new insert farm animal laxative, but instead came up with . . . I wonder if that is why I always feel gassy after drinking . . .
5. The Major League Hall of Fame was going through their extensive collection of game-used hats when a young staffer came up with a great idea. Why not collect the hair samples and test for early forms of steriods and other illegal drugs. Can you believe insert Hall of Famer was using insert illegal drug?
6. Did you hear what happen in insert any state? A little boy was enjoying insert any drink and then wanted to freshen his breath with insert any mint. Later he complained to his mother that his stomach hurt and she gave him some Alka Seltzer and his insert body organ exploded. He is listed in critical condition at Saint Peter’s hospital.
7. You would not believe what happen at a Wal-Mart in insert any U.S. city. On a busy Saturday, the manager refused to let 85 year old insert any name take a restroom break. Any name did their best, but their bladder eventually surrendered causing a minor riot in lanes 4-7. Local authorities say no one was hurt and Wal-Mart officials say that they are investigating the entire incident.
8. Did you hear the latest plot to assassinate Obama? Authorities say 33 year old Billy Bob Cletus from insert any city, state that hosts a NASCAR event was planning on sneaking into the White House as a insert your favorite pizza delivery guy and shoot Obama with his high powered BB gun. A spokesperson from the Secret Service declined to give any comment.

Yeah, thats quite right. There are plenty type of letters which do contain some kind of rumour regarding net. I’ve also got some..
Cool, this got me thinking I should start something like this. Maybe about…….. hana montana! that would work all right Im on it.
I hope that I will be able to earn more and more from these kind of rumours. But for this we should have enough network and that should react fast on these kind of rumours.
I am not a big fan of gossip of any kind, but for some reason I fund this hilarious. Time to spread some celebrity dirt online.

Good posting, I used to get many rumor emails but I never think it is way of marketing. I simply thought just for funny someone is doing the such things. I enjoyed your post,keep it up.
Another basic rule of mass media. If you want to earn money and want to famous than you will have to follow these rules as well.
This is very funny but there is some truth to this to, great article.
I have received a lot of e mails with fake promotions or news, can you believe that I have earned around $700000 in lotteries, a lot of travels, computers, etc. This is ridiculous!

I don’t know where people find the time, nor the inclination to be honest, I mean there’s no financial gain to these rumours, or is there? I suppose it could be another way of marketing your product.

Very funny, internet rumours can spread through email also. some time before I got an email much circulated rumor claims that the United Kingdom has “removed the Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offended’ the Moslem population.”
This false information, which began circulating via e-mail in April 2007, recently resurfaced in an e-mail slide show on the importance of remembering the Holocaust.
In fact, Holocaust education is mandatory in British schools and continues to be part of the national curriculum. very very funny!!!!!!!!
